This precious Art Quilt started in March of 2020; the beginning of the Pandemic, as I watched many of my ‘quilting mentors’ adapt & grow a new ‘Way’ for themselves and ‘Us’. One such Mentor is Alex Anderson. Alex gave free half hour ‘lives’ twice a week through YouTube, a new experience for her with all its’ technical challenges. Alex still continues years later with her “live pod casts’.
Special Feature: Straight Line Stitching
Straight Line stitching is used throughout this Art Quilt. What makes Straight Line so special? This particular type of stitching is labor intensive, however I love the look! This gives the surface a very ‘textile’ look & feel.
Another special feature:
This Art Quilt is “Faced”; meaning, the surrounding border has been turned under, rather than using a “binding strip” as most bed quilt have. ‘Facing’ truly gives an Art Quilt a proper finish.
